This is Laurens friend from the orphange being adopted by a woman who lives in Royersford so they will be able to see each other in the future. Her name is Devyn and she is about 5 days younger than Lauren but much tinyier. Alot of people have asked if they are twins.
We wnet to the People Park in Nanchang today, to get some Sun and fresh air. It was a very beautiful and busy park. In China the average retirement age is between 50 and 60. Most retired people go to the park every day. Some exercise, some dance, many play cards and we saw many playing instruments and singing.
Family photo time
Matt and Lauren spend some quality time together
She loves to nap
Introducing the new Queen of the house sitting on her throne
Eating her fruit
This morning we went to the Temple and saw the Monks and a big Buddha (resembled me a little bit)
We received more documents today including the finding ad which is the ad the orphange places when the receive an abandoned baby. It was very sobering to see, the poor baby had been left at the front entrance of the orphange a day after she was born. Every day there are pages of the ads in the papers.
We are blessed to have her and to offer her the world!
One last picture of Lauren and her protective big brother
On to the last leg of our trip - closer to home and everyone we miss and love, including our cat (boy is she in for a surpise we are bringing home a tail puller)
Thanks again for the updates and awesome pictures. We are checking the blog everyday and love following your journey. Jordan and I get very excited when a new post is added. Colin just checked it out for the first time and said to tell Lauren "Uncle Colin said Hello". Does that make him Matt's uncle too???? Again, we can't wait to meet Lauren. She is beautiful and truly blessed to be joining your family. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
ReplyDeleteLove the Mundy's.
Great Pictures. She likes food like Daddy too I see!! One more week, we can't wait!!! Just thinki, by making this wonderful choice of bringing Lauren to the US, she'll never have to make that heartbreaking decision that her birth mother had to. Love to all :)
ReplyDeleteLauren looks like she's enjoying all the attention she is getting and deserves. I really just can't imagine leaving your newborn child on the steps of anywhere, it must be heartbreaking for the mother to live in a culture where you have to give up your child. Thank God for people like you who will give them a wonderful home and future. Enjoy your time at the Swan Hotel and the cruise down Pearl River, it sounds like fun. Hope the weather holds out for your last leg of this long journey. We are anxiously waiting for your arrival home. Love, Mom
ReplyDeleteIt is Friday morning and I am sitting in work catching up on my e-mail and your blog. I have tears streaming down my cheeks. (What is new for me:) Lauren is beautiful and so lucky to have found her family with all of you!!!!! Continue to enjoy, be safe and get back home so that we can all see her in person!

She's absolutely gorgeous!!!! Pix are so good, you look at ease already! Love reading the updates. So sad about the other abandoned kids that don't get placed with a great family like the Haig's! Really heartbreaking to know that really happens, even in 2010! I'll give Abby pep talks about the tail pulling! Be safe, & hello to Marianne & Matt from us!
